Imbolc 2020

Back to front (on red and pink altar cloths): Goddess candle, jade Buddha statue, God candle; earth candle, air candle, fire candle, water candle; pink scrap paper, white sigil candle and amethyst on an old ashtray, Imbolc haiku on white paper.

Went to a Pagan ritual, spouse read the Imbolc meditation to me from Magical Meditations, set up an altar.

Pagan ritual included creating a sigil, setting an intention with a stone (I grabbed an amethyst at random), and writing a haiku.

We also sang the same song from last year.

Meditation

I've tried several different kinds of meditation at different times in my life. When I was struggling with grad school, it was a huge stress relief that left me feeling more relaxed and aware. Guided meditations helped relieve the tension that was building in my lower back. During some meditations, I'd listen to my body. When I wasn't getting enough exercise and movement throughout my day, I'd feel restless. If I was avoiding doing grief work on my own, I'd sometimes cry. Lately, I've been working on meditating again. One time my body told me I was hungry. Another time my body told me I was thirsty. The other day during a meditations session I reflected on this.

Went to a lecture on thyme given by an herbalist nurse. There were a lot of herbalists, nurses, and artists there. Related post: Herbology.

Ayurveda Pulse

Got my pulse read by an Ayurveda student before a meditation session the other day. Apparently, I had an imbalance in Vatta and my baseline is Pitta. I do like warm, cooked foods, and I do tend to get irritable if I miss a meal.
